Message from the Principal

Though this is my first year as principal, coming to Carrollton Junior High School is coming home. I am humbled to be charged with leading the school where I started my career in education in 2002 as a seventh grade Life Science teacher.

Carrollton Junior High’s stellar reputation did not happen by chance. Intentional, hard work with a focus on success for ALL students directs our efforts. Our goal is to ensure our seventh and eighth graders are well prepared for the transition to high school through the rigorous coursework and high expectations they will experience at CJHS. And, the transition to high school may come earlier for some students, as opportunities exist to earn high school credits through advanced coursework.

CJHS also boasts a decades-long tradition of providing strong feeder programs for arts and athletics. STEM education is a major focus as well and features opportunities for students to shine in robotic competitions and other innovative efforts. The school’s storied accelerated math program competes at the highest level, capturing the region title most years.

Though a student’s stay at CJHS is only two years, they are two powerful years. Rest assured that once students leave CJHS, they are well prepared to take on the rigors and rewards of high school.
